Implementation of an innovative protocol for the valorisation of
extravirgin olive oil
Financed by funds of the European Territorial Cooperation Programme Greece – Italy 2007/2013 , the
INNOVOIL Project has as a goal to achieve in collaboration with farms and mills and Greek Apulian
, an innovative protocol for efficient use extra virgin olive oil . Partners of the project are
the Italian Laser Center Scrl Valenzano (Lead partner ) and the Special Companies of the Chamber of
Commerce of Bari AICAI and SAMER . The team is represented by the Greek ETANAM Development , Regional
Unit of Thespotia , the Municipality of Parga and the Regional Unit of Corfu.
The innovative protocol that INNOVOIL aims to achieve , see preliminary analysis
activities such as extra virgin olive oil , soil , leaves and olives protagonists of production. The
companies participating in the project , will be able to enjoy free of the laboratory tests mentioned
above. It will also be the subject of thorough survey of consumers in order to infer preferences on the
packaging of the product. The output of the study will be aimed at the creation of a new type of
packaging in addition to responding to the appeal of the consumer, may be functional for optimal
preservation of extra virgin olive oil.
